If you plan on doing much hosting this summer, then you might be on the lookout for some affordable martini recipes. After all, when using high-quality ingredients – and lots of them – prices can really start to add up. We’ve found that some of the best – and most affordable – martini recipes we know get their great taste from one of the cheapest sources: your backyard garden.
A few days ago, we covered the basics of starting your own herbal pallet garden. If you haven’t started one yet, go for it! You still have time to catch up this season. Chocolate peppermint is one of the easiest and fastest growing herbs for a personal garden. (In fact, it grows so rampantly that we would recommend planting it by itself in a terra cotta pot so that it doesn’t take over the rest of your garden!)
The martini recipe below calls for plenty of fresh chocolate peppermint. If you only have access to regular peppermint, that’s fine. Chocolate peppermint, however, will give your martini that little extra kick.
Amoretti Herbal Chocolate Peppermint Martini Recipe
Gently muddle fresh chocolate peppermint leaves with vodka. Add the muddled mixture, crème de cacao, and anise premium syrup to a cocktail mixer filled with ice. Shake for just 4-6 seconds to keep the martini from diluting too much. Strain and pour into a chilled martini glass rimmed with sugar.
We’ve been adding our anise premium syrup to this recipe because it brings a little herbal kick of its own. If you have fresh anise, then use it. Most people, however, won’t have access to high quality anise, which makes our anise premium syrup the best alternative out there!
Also, with roughly 94 servings (at 1 pump/8 ml) in each bottle, you’re paying less than 13 cents per drink on the anise front! What’s not to love about that? For a delicious product, sourced from nature and bottled in the U.S.A., that’s hard to beat.
