Amoretti Bubble Tea With Guava Syrup
Now that we’re in the full swing of summer, tropical drinks and flavors are everywhere! When you go out for dinner you’ll see an array of summer beverages filling sidewalk menu boards. At home, you’re probably enjoying a few summer drinks on the screened in porch.
If you’re already starting to feel like the same summer beverages are everywhere, then it might be time to start thinking about a unique drink you can impress your guests with: bubble tea! Bubble tea (also known as boba tea) first made its appearance in Taiwan about thirty years ago. The drink is a combination of milk, green or black tea, sweetener, tapioca pearls, and ice.
Bubble tea has enjoyed a growing popularity here on the west coast for a couple decades, but now it’s sweeping the nation. Bubble teashops are popping up outside of immigrant neighborhoods, joining the mainstream. Because so many U.S.-born citizens are creating bubble tea recipes these days, the very definition of bubble tea is beginning to change in big ways.
Here at Amoretti, we love change and variety. So, of course, we’re thrilled to see all of the exciting things people are doing with this delicious drink. We thought we would try our own hand at experimenting with bubble tea recipes! We decided to use Amoretti Premium Guava Syrup, and couldn’t be happier with the result!
Like all of our unique tropical syrups, Amoretti Premium Guava Syrup is made right here in Southern California from the finest natural ingredients. Its amazing, refreshing taste is just too good! How could we not use this in a bubble tea recipe? If you want to give it a try, here are the basics!
- 1 tsp matcha powder OR 1 tea bag
- Amoretti Premium Guava Syrup
- Tapioca Pearls
- Mix well, and enjoy!
You will notice that the tapioca pearls settle to the bottom of the drink because of their weight. You didn’t do anything wrong; this is normal! Traditionally, bubble tea is enjoyed with a wide straw large enough to suck up the tapioca pearls from the bottom of the drink. If you don’t have any such straw, you can always spoon out the tapioca pearls after you finish the drink! The tapioca pearls have a unique slick kind of texture. For many people, it’s a love-or-hate kind of thing. What can we say? We love them!
