Amoretti Coffee Syrups: Perfect Coffee to Water Ratio
Adding just one good coffee syrup to your mug in the morning can totally change the way you experience your coffee. However, if you’re drinking coffee that’s been brewed with the wrong coffee to water ratio, then no drink syrup, creamer, or anything else is going to save it! Finding the perfect coffee to water ratio is essential to brewing good coffee.
No matter what kind of brewing method you use (handheld espresso, drip machine, French press, stovetop espresso, etc.), a few basic rules always apply.
How Many Cups of Coffee Do You Want?
Here’s the question you must start with. How many cups of coffee do you want? Once you know this information, it’s easy to work backwards to get the right amount of coffee and water. An easy rule of thumb to remember is 2 tablespoons for every one cup of coffee. A cup, in this instance, is defined as 8 fluid ounces.
So, if you want two cups, you would use 4 tablespoons of coffee, etc. If you don’t have any measuring spoons convenient and/or would prefer to measure your coffee by weight, then you should know that 2 tablespoons of coffee is equal to 0.38 ounces.
Dealing With Odd Proportions…
Of course, you might not have a precise amount of coffee on hand. Let’s say you have an odd measurement of coffee that doesn’t round to a multiple of 0.38 ounces. In order to determine how many fluid ounces of water you should use, you can multiply the ounces of coffee on hand by 21.33.
If you had 3.25 ounces of coffee on hand, multiplying that figure by 21.33 would reveal that you would need 69.32 fluid ounces of water in order to make the perfect cup of coffee!
Ratio of Flavored Syrups for Coffee
As you can see, finding the perfect balance between the coffee and water isn’t too difficult to do. However, things get tricky again when you try to add coffee syrups into the mix! Fortunately, most all of our coffee syrups follow one easy-to-remember ratio:
- 1 ½ pumps for 8 fl. oz hot drink
- 1 ¾ pumps for 8 fl. oz cold drink
If you want to try this ratio out for yourself, try preparing some coffee with the proper ratios, and then add the appropriate amount of Amoretti Premium Macadamia Syrup, a smooth, nutty coffee syrup that won’t let you down!
