- 8 oz hot water
- 1 peppermint tea bag
- 2 oz spiced rum
- 1 spoon honey
- ¼ lemon squeezed
- 1 ½ pump Amoretti Premium Amaretto Syrup
It isn’t difficult to make this gourmet drink, but there are several extra steps involved. Bring about 8 ounces of hot water to a rolling boil. Because we’re going to add so many room temperature components to this drink, it’s important that you begin with water that’s as hot as possible. Steep your peppermint tea for 4-5 minutes (or for however long the manufacturer specifies). You can get more life out of your tea bag by steeping in a tea pot and making several of these cocktails.
Once your tea is steeped, discard the tea bag and add one spoonful of honey. Do this before adding any other ingredients so that the honey thoroughly dissolves. Next, add 2 ounces of spiced rum. Whiskey is a fine substitute (especially a honey whiskey), but we enjoy the distinct flavor of a good spiced rum in this drink recipe. Next, squeeze a quarter of freshly sliced lemon, and finish by adding Amoretti Premium Amaretto Syrup. Give your Spiced Rum Peppermint Toddy a good stir, and enjoy!
