Amoretti Summer of Wine-Tini Recipes: White Zin Wine-Tini
If you’ve been keeping up with our springtime mixology sessions, then you may have noticed our recent proclivity for the “wine-tini.” The wine-tini is a new kind of cocktail – part wine, part liquor – similar to sangria. While sangria has more of a punchbowl quality to it, the wine-tini is closer to being a cocktail than sangria.
Today we’re proud to introduce Amoretti fans to a brand new summer wine-tini recipe. This recipe is our fourth one in the series, but you can expect to see many more on the Amoretti Blog over the next few months…
Amoretti White Zin Wine-Tini
- 1 part vodka
- 1 part Amoretti Pineapple Martini Cocktail Mix
- 3 part White Zinfandel
- Sliced pineapple
- Sliced melon (if fresh)
Slice the fruit, and add all ingredients to a large pitcher. Place in the refrigerator for several hours. Once the wine-tini has reached a low temperature, pull it out, give it a stir, add ice, and serve up some glasses! Note: Don’t add ice until you’re ready to serve as ice will dilute the mixture. Then again, if you want dilution, do the exact opposite!
Why White Zin?
Wine doesn’t get too much attention here on the Amoretti Blog. Frankly, there aren’t too many opportunities for mixing together wine and a cocktail mix! When we first created this recipe, we experimented with a variety of different wines before landing on White Zinfandel.
As a Rosé wine, White Zinfandels can range between off-dry and sweet. As a blush whine, white Zinfandel typically has a faint pink color to it that makes it perfect for mixing in a cocktail. It has a distinctive taste that you won’t confuse with other wines and is also a fairly affordable wine for mixing into your drinks – especially if you live here, in California!
So, pick up a bottle at your local wine shop and try out this recipe. We’d love to know what you think about this and other wine-tini recipes. Just drop in on the Amoretti Facebook page to voice your opinion!
