Bloody Mary Drink Recipe w/ Amoretti Unique Citrus Syrups
The Bloody Mary is world famous for being the definitive “hair of the dog” cocktail. Whether you’re making brunch or feeling just a touch… shall we say, “under the weather?”… this drink recipe is the perfect mixture of vodka, tomato juice, and savory flavors. We’ve added our own unique citrus syrup, Amoretti Premium Lemon Syrup, to give it a special citrus-y kick.
Who is the Bloody Mary named for?
Well, as you might imagine, no one you’d want to be. No one knows for sure just who the “real” Bloody Mary is, but there are three primary guesses:
- Queen Mary I of England, who earned her nickname because of her persecution of Protestants in England.
- Mary Pickford, the Hollywood actress who – ironically enough – died of a cerebral hemorrhage long after the drink had become established.
- A waitress named Mary, who worked at a Chicago bar unappetizingly named the Bucket of Blood.
The below recipe is a fairly standard Bloody Mary drink recipe, so feel free to have fun with it and make your own special trademark changes!
Amoretti Bloody Mary Drink Recipe
- 2 oz vodka
- 2 pumps Amoretti Premium Lemon Syrup
- ¼ oz Worcestershire sauce
- 3 dashes of hot sauce
- ¼ tsp. grated horseradish
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch cracked pepper
- 1 pinch celery salt
- Tomato juice (to taste)
- 1 celery stalk
- 1 lime wedge
Though this is quite possibly the highest number of ingredients we’ve ever featured in a drink recipe, the Bloody Mary isn’t actually difficult to make. Add all of your ingredients (except tomato juice and garnishes) into a highball glass. Next add ice, and stir. Add tomato juice to either the top of the glass or to taste. Stir the mixture with your celery stalk, garnish with a lime, and enjoy!
Every cocktail is personal. Some people like their drinks on the sweet side, drier side, etc. The Bloody Mary, however, is a very personal drink recipe. When it comes to this cocktail, people are especially particular. The version we’ve included here is a fairly simple and basic Bloody Mary cocktail. Chances are, you’ll find some things that you want to change about it, which is more than okay.
Just so you know – the horseradish is pretty important for this drink recipe. Make sure to pick some up next time you’re at the grocery, and have fun experimenting with creating your own version of the Bloody Mary!
