- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 Tbs Amoretti Premium Brandy Syrup
- 1 Tbs Amoretti Premium Anise Syrup
- 1 Tbs Amoretti Premium Amaretto Syrup
- Colored sugar for decorating
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine the flour, butter, and sugar in a bowl and work into a soft dough. Divide the dough equally among three bowls. Add one type of syrup to each bowl of dough, add 1 drop green food coloring to one bowl, 1 drop red food coloring to the second bowl and leave the third bowl plain. Work the syrup and the food coloring into each bowl of dough.
Roll rounded teaspoons of each bowl of dough into approximately 6-inch long ropes, keeping the colors separated. Braid 1 rope of each color together, shape the braid into a ring, and pinch the ends to seal.
Place the cookie wreaths on the parchment lined cookie sheet and sprinkle red and green decorating sugar onto the unbaked cookies. Bake the cookies at 350 degrees for 14 minutes, until golden on the bottom.
Cool the cookies on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes then move them to a cooling rack to cool completely. Store baked cookies in an airtight container.
