Today, we’re taking vibrant orange flavors to the next level to showcase a Kentucky favorite. While it’s not a classic like the Mint Julep at the Kentucky Derby, the Kentucky Sidebar is certainly magical and prolific. And using our martini mix, we think we’ve perfected the recipe.
With a precious jewel such as the tangerine at the center of this drink, you’ll be amazed at how seamless the smoky fire of bourbon compliments the tangy sweet of tangerine. It’s a mysterious taste that many find synonymous with Kentucky. It’s a flavor that’s feisty, fiery, and strangely beautiful.
The Kentucky Sidecar is a popular cocktail recipe not only because of the incredibly fruity flavor balanced with tartness, but also because of the simplicity of the recipe itself. Within 2 minutes, you can have a cocktail that celebrates the great state of Kentucky – and the incredible flavor of tangerines!

Ingredients for the Kentucky Sidecar Cocktail Recipe
- 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
- 1 oz. Amoretti Tangerine Martini Mix
- 1 ½ oz. bourbon
- ¾ oz. orange-flavored liqueur
This cocktail recipe serves one.
Use a tangerine wedge to rim a chilled cocktail glass and sugar the rim with a thin coating. Add ice to a cocktail mixer and add the ingredients on top. Shake vigorously for approximately 15-20 seconds and then strain into your prepared cocktail glass. Feel free to top this cocktail recipe off with a tangerine twist for garnish. A few raspberries are also an excellent addition to this cocktail recipe.
