Add a unique and flavorful twist.

Summer is coming, and that means it’s time for new cocktail recipes! One of the most refreshing liquors on a hot summer afternoon is gin, especially when paired with one of the exotic floral beverage syrups offered by Amoretti. Today good gin can come from many different origins around the globe, in all kinds of different styles and flavors. But one thing remains constant from gin to gin, and that’s the use of juniper berries.

Juniper berries give gin its refreshing, piney scent. For some, this characteristic sets the flavor of gin on a love or hate kind of divide, but for us, we love the challenge of pairing one of our excellent floral beverage syrups with this exotic liquor!

No matter what kind of Amoretti syrups you decide to use to add unique flavor to your favorite gin, there are a few basics. You’ll want to have gin, the syrup of your choice, and a mixer. Of course, the most popular mixer for gin is traditionally tonic water. If tonic water doesn’t suit your palate, stick with something light and carbonated. Ginger ale makes for a great alternative, as does a light carbonated cider if you have a sweet tooth.

  1. Start with one part of your favorite gin over ice.
  2. Next, add two parts tonic water or the mixer of your choice.

Amoretti: a great way to make your bar or kitchen go farther.

Which one of our floral beverage syrups you use is up to you, but we recommend Amoretti Premium Elder Flower for a classic combination. This syrup will add unique flavor without drastically changing the characteristics of the gin. Add this syrup to taste.

Because of its unique characteristics, gin is a fun liquor to experiment with. Though it doesn’t have the same versatility as vodka and other clear liquors, that’s all part of the challenge! If you want to add a little extra kick to your drink, throw in a dash of St. Germain or another sweet liqueur with similar citrus notes. With the right spirit, you’ll be a stylish bartender in no time!

Now all you need is a cool front porch to sit under and watch the evening summer showers drizzle down. Take a breather at the start of this season and mix up a carafe-full of your own unique summer beverage to share with friends.

We’d love to hear about how you’re using our floral beverage syrups to make your summer more interesting!
