Here at the Amoretti® test kitchens, we constantly scream for ice cream and are always looking for an excuse to make some. The best excuse we have is when a new Natural Artisan flavor is released, because Amoretti Natural Artisan Flavors are the best way we can think of to flavor a bucket of homemade ice cream.
Regardless of which Amoretti Natural Artisan Flavor you choose, ¼ cup added to your standard 5 cup net yield ice cream recipe will give you the impressive flavor that you always expect from Amoretti products.
Would you like to add an Amoretti Natural Artisan Flavor swirl to your favorite ice cream or combine two Amoretti Natural Artisan Flavors into one ice cream by adding a swirl? Piece of cake! (Pun intended.)
Create a Natural Artisan flavored swirl mixture by combining ½ cup of the Natural Artisan Flavor of your choice with ¼ cup heavy cream, 1 Tbs of room temperature butter, and a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl and whisk them until you have a smooth, shiny mixture. Taste the mixture and adjust the balance of Artisan flavoring to heavy cream to taste. Press a layer of plastic wrap directly on the swirl mixture and refrigerate it for 30-45 minutes.
There are two ways to create the swirl in your finished ice cream.
- You can slowly add the swirl mixture to the finished ice cream with the ice cream maker running just long enough to create the swirl through the ice cream, and then transfer the ice cream to an airtight container
- You can transfer the ice cream to an airtight container, add the swirl mixture, and stir it into the ice cream by hand to create the swirl.
Add a Crème de Menthe swirl to your basic chocolate ice cream to give you an ice cream reminiscent of Andes chocolate mint candies. Adding an Espresso Coffee Natural flavor swirl to Apple Pie Natural Artisan flavored ice cream will result in apple pie and coffee ice cream! You can make Amoretti Natural Vanilla Bean Artisan flavored ice cream and use just about any other Natural Artisan Flavor to create a swirl.
Once the swirl has been added to the ice cream and the ice cream is in an air tight container, store it in the freezer for two or more hours, until the ice cream has reached the desired consistency.
In a dish, in a cone, as a sundae or banana split, next to a slice of your favorite pie, or whirled in a blender to make a milkshake, sooner or later EVERYONE screams for ice cream!
