Amoretti Signature Summer Cocktail

Amoretti Signature Summer Cocktail

Feeling creative? Maybe just a little? With this easy method, you can take that creativity and develop your own signature cocktail recipe in no time. And when you use our method, no one will be able to easily replicate your cocktail recipe. Here’s how the Amoretti signature summer cocktail creation method works:

Step One: Liquor

Start with a liquor. If you pick just any old bottle of vodka or run-of-the-mill whiskey, you’re setting limitations for your drink. At the same time, you probably don’t want to buy a highfalutin bottle of 30-year old Scotch whisky either. We’ve found a way around all this: home infusion.

If you’ve been reading the Amoretti Blog regularly this spring and summer, then you know that we’re all about infusing your own spirits at home (recent posts have covered infusing vodka with coffee beans and with berries). Infusion is great for a number of reasons:

Interesting Fruit Syrup: Kiwi Syrup

Kiwifruit Syrup: An invigorating taste reminiscent of strawberries, melons and bananas, yet with its own unique sweet flavor.

  • It’s cheap. Just the cost of the spirit and whatever you add to it.
  • It’s easy. Put the herbs or fruit in a jar with vodka and let chemistry do the work for you.
  • It tastes great (need we say more?)

Check out one of the above blog posts for ideas about infusing your own spirits. Pick a summer fruit or berry that you love and keep reading… (for this blog post example, we’re going to choose strawberries infused in vodka).

Step Two: Herb

Next, pick a fresh herb that pairs well with the fruit-infused spirit. We love the taste of mint and strawberries. Plus, mint is available year round, so we’ll choose mint for our example. Other herbs we love in cocktails include basil, lemon thyme, lavender, and rosemary.

Step Three: Drink Syrup

Last, but not least, select a drink syrup. With more than 115 to choose from in the Amoretti Store, you’ve got plenty of options. For our strawberry-vodka mint cocktail, we’ll choose Amoretti Premium Kiwi Syrup, which has a nice balance of sweet and tart.

Step Four: Mix It Up!

You now have the basic ingredients for your own signature cocktail. Between your home liquor-infusion, your fresh herb(s), and your own favorite Amoretti drink syrup, what are the chances that anyone else will ever recreate your cocktail recipe? Slim to none? Here’s how our example cocktail would turn out:

You can make this cocktail one of two ways…

Shaken: Muddle the mint in a cocktail shaker. Add vodka and the kiwi syrup. Fill with ice and shake. Strain into a cocktail glass.

On the Rocks: Muddle the mint in an Old Fashioned glass. Add vodka, kiwi syrup, and ice. Top with soda water. Stir gently.
