Maple Bacon Ice Cream with Streusel

Bacon and Ice Cream, it can’t get much better than this!

Ice cream is already amazing, so how do you make something great even better? Just add some bacon flavoring! Top it off with some delicious graham cracker oat streusel.

Maple Bacon Compound

Amoretti compounds are ideal for flavoring cakes, cookies, muffins, cheesecakes, ice cream, alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverage, liqueur, beer & wine, or just about anything else you can imagine.



    1. Heat cream, milk and sugar to a simmer.
    2. Remove from heat and temper in the eggs.
    3. Cook to 82° C (178° F).
    4. Strain.
    5. As an option, mix in either Amoretti Maple Compound or Amoretti Maple Bacon Type Compound.
    6. Chill at least 4 hours or overnight.
    7. Spin in an ice cream machine according to manufacturer’s instructions.
    8. In a mixer with a paddle attachment, combine the dry ingredients.
    9. Add the cold, cubed butter and mix until the butter is broken down into small pieces.
    10. Spread the streusel on a parchment-lined sheet pan and bake in a 350° oven for 6-8 minutes, or until lightly browned.
    11. Remove, stir and let cool.
    12. Store in an airtight container. Streusel can keep for four days. Or it can be kept in the refrigerator, unbaked for 7 days.

Amoretti Rosemary Quiche

    Amoretti Rosemary Oil Extract, Rosemary Extract, Rosemary Flavor

    Our savory extracts will heighten flavor in your recipes!

    • 1¼ cups all purpose flour
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • 7 tablespoons butter cold cubed
    • 2 tablespoons ice water
    • 6 oz (4-5 strips) bacon
    • 2 eggs
    • 2 egg yolks
    • 1¼ cups half and half
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • ¼ teaspoon white pepper
    • pinch nutmeg
    • 1 teaspoon Amoretti® Rosemary Oil Extract
    • 1 cup Gruyère cheese


    1. Combine all dry ingredients and add cold, cubed butter until the butter is pea sized.
    2. Add cold water and mix until dough forms and mixing bowl is clean.
    3. Flatten dough into a disc shape, wrap and chill 1 hour.
    4. Press chilled dough into fluted tart pan with removable bottom.
    5. Fill with parchment and pie weights (or beans).
    6. Par bake at 375°F for about 15 minutes.
    7. Remove the parchment and pie weights and continue baking for another 10 minutes until tart shell is lightly browned.
    8. Cool completely.
    9. Filling: Fry bacon, drain on paper towels and dice.
    10. Grate Gruyère cheese to fill one cup.
    11. Combine eggs, yolks, half and half, salt, pepper, nutmeg and Amoretti Rosemary Oil Extract until thoroughly combined.
    12. Spread diced bacon on bottom of cooled tart shell.
    13. Pour egg mixture over the bacon and top with grated Gruyère cheese.
    14. Bake in a 375°F oven for 30-35 minutes.
    15. Serve warm, or let cool to room temperature, cover and chill.
